LSU v. App State

These are a few of our favorite moments from the LSU game. We were so happy to see Christopher as we walked in on Nicholson. He even taught Cece a new "ping" pong game. We hung out outside until the band came down the hill, at 8:30 AM. THen we went in the stadium and were happy to find Gloria and other regulars. We left early because it was so HOT! Hope you enjoy Martin!

Hurricane Gustav Prep

This is what I call Hurricane Preparation. My sister and I have wanted to take pictures in front on this old barn for months now. It is located near our great grandparents home on the banks of the Mississippi River. We took the kids their today in case the barn is not there tomorrow. My grandfather told us that the barn lost its roof in Betsy when the wind blew it to the levee. The wind then changed directions and blew it back to the site. My mother tells me that many years ago the plantation help lived there when the property was still a working farm.

Boys will be Boys

Jacob and Cece both love playing with their cousins Jax and Maddox. Jacob especially loves it because they are real boys. This is them just relaxing Saturday while Cece and I were at the football game.

Girl's Room 2

This girly area is Jill's room.
It really acts as a guest room. We love being closer to home and being able to keep our guest room full so much of the time.

Girl's Room 1

Martin and all,

Since I was taking pictures of the house pre-Gustav, I thought I'd include a few updates that we have made. This is Cece's big girl room. I am still working on the rest of the room, but love the colors. Special thanks to Julie for the idea to paint those shelves. You were so right. Sara, we'll take youe stylish hand-me-downs any time.

Uncle Ricky's Farm

Cece was very excited to be going to the farm Friday afternoon. She asked all day if she could hold a baby chick, but lost her nerve when the time came. She had a great time playing with Boady and Jacob on the swings, even if it was a little HOT!

Trains

This picture is for everyone who remembers Martin and his trains. Jacob spent a good part of the morning with markers and this box. He was delighted when I cut windows out. He later found other boxes to make train cars. Yes, baby sister was allowed to ride. Yes, I'm gonna' miss these day.

Any Volunteers?

I thought of all of our SEC friends, especially Elizabeth and Daniel, when I saw this flag flying from a crane outside of the Medical Center at Kessler Airforce Base. This is the nearest military base to us, and where we receive medical and other services.

Educational Toys

On the topic of educational toys.....we've all said this before, but it always amuses me. Jacob has spent most of the day in the toy room, filled with more toys than I can count, playing in this BOX (that came full of new costumes.)

ABC

If you listen REALLY close you can here him sing his ABC's. I can only imagine that Big Bird taught them, because it is not something I have been working on. Martin, perhaps one of the 100's of "educational toys" I have bought over the past 6 years actually taught one of the children something. Imagine that! What ever the case....here it is.

Cece's Art

This is Cece's Art wall. She is so proud of it and walks by to look at it all the time. She tells me that she works extra hard in art class now to make beautiful things for the wall. I highly recommend it as a big warm fuzzy to all my momma-friends. Note: She has no idea that the wall does double duty as part of the laundry room, or that I couldn't look at those frames in my bathroom for another day. She thinks it is the Metropolitian Museum of Art.

Lynn Meadows

We spent another great afternoon at Lynn Meadows Learning Center. Maw Maw Gina came to the Children's Museum with us and really loved the dress up area.

Hospital Park

This picture was taken at a little park behind the Ocean Springs Hospital. It seemed to have real fun potential, but was full of bugs. Maybe it will be better during the fall, if it ever gets here.

Cooking

Jill is at an age when she wants to be playing all the time. One of her favorite things is this little kitchen in the toyroom.

Potty Song

With a moo moo here, and a moo moo there, a moo moo there, a moo moo every where......Just no poo poo anywhere.

Berry Cute

The video says it all.

Tuckered Out

Saturday was a very long day. We went to Brody Hyde's Birthday Party and saw all of the animals at Ricky's Farm. Jacob was exhausted when we got home and went straight to bed.

Martin these are some pictures in his room.

Seating Area

This is Cece, Jacob and Jill enjoying the new-to-us chairs we received via Tisa from Mrs. Sussie's garage sale. Martin, this is what we call the seating area in the kitchen

Lightyear

Jacob has a new love....Lightyear.

He is just starting to recognize characters. This makes everytrip to the store more fun.

"Momma, Cars the Movie. Jakey likes Cars the Movie!"
"Momma, lets find Elmo!"

He loved when I pulled these PJ's out of my stash.

To Infinity and Beyond!

Cecilia

This is Cecilia, just home from her first day of school. She has decided to be called Cecilia at school, but said that Cece is still OK at home. She had a great day and was very excited.

Discovery Center...Again

After we went for Donuts and brought books back to the library today, Cece said, "Hey, can we go to the Children's Museum?" We used to do spur of the moment stuff all the time, but seldom do now. So I said, "OK!" and we went to Gulfport. It is a beautiful Museum and they have programs for toddlers. I'm thinking this maybe the closest any Braud's get to Sea Duty this year!

City Park

These pictures were taken at City Park in New Orleans. We visited there in July.
Everytime Jacob walks past the computer he says, "Momma - Jakey drive Choo Choo." It was a fun day, and we also drove by Maw Maw Martin's House on the way.

New School

We visited Cece's new school today. It is Pecan Park Elementary School. Her teacher is Mrs. Manning and her room is decorated with underwater fun. They are ready to Dive Into First Grade!

Coffee House

We visited the Coffee House when visiting Ascension Parish. Who could pass on this great background? (Jacob is trying tomake a run for it.)

Blackberries

Daddy better be ready to pick blackberries next spring, because this girl loves them. Paw Paw can't thin out the bushes around the tree now.

Sleeping Beaut's

What more can a mom ask for on a long trip than this site in the back seat? Happy Anniversary Martin!

Lynn Meadows

Lynn Meadows Learning Center is a great Childen's Museum. It is in Gulfport. There are nice areas to play inside and outside. The inside is nice and new and the kids just love it. The outside is large and has huge tree houses to climb in. I'm sure we will spend many days there!
