Bob the Builder

We went to the Bob the Builder show at the Children's Museum this afternoon. It was a short local production and did not have the glamour of other shows we have seen, but it was very nice. Jacob eventaully realized what was going on and got into it. Cece loved the craft. It was a great afternoon together.
"Bob the builder, can you do it?" How about you Da Da?

Walking

Jill has been walking for a few weeks now, but always seems to be falling. She has a little concrete rash on her cheek from a recent fall outside. I hope she gets steady soon.

Mudd Shack

When my parents came to visit Cece and I were able to sneak away to the Mudd Shack for a little pottery painting. She made a new light swith plate for her room and an ornament for Dee Dee and Paw Paw. It is a great place and we hope to return soon.

East Beach

Ashley Dart told me about a new beach that she found in town. It is very secluded. We went their with my mom and dad and watched a beautiful sunset while the kids played. It is always nice to get company!

YMCA

We have been going to the YMCA every morning. The kids really like the playroom. Jacob is such a little man now. He carries his school bag in to the ladies. He never wants to leave but I eventually coax him back to the van.

Smile

Jill is getting big so fast. It seems like she is into everything lately. She loves to play outside and doesn't want to be held anymore. She has been walking for a few weeks now, and never crawls anymore. She has a little temper to her, and will scream when she doesn't get her way. She is still a sweet baby though.

Tiger Princesses

It was wonderful to have our cousin Amy McMurrtary over to spend the night. The girls mostly watched movies, but took a few minutes to spar.

Open Door Policy

I guess we must have an open door policy around here that I was not aware of...Today I might very well loose my mind!

Hanging Out

Jacob and Jill just hanging out at home while Cece is at school.

Art 101

*
I waited for a while for ideas for displaying kids art before I made my impromtu little laundry room art wall. Then, as soon as I was finished with it, and happy, Family Fun Magazine comes out with a whole article about the topic. Being that I loved the ideas, and I did have more art work, I decided to give it a shot in the playroom. It is badly in need or somethings.
We went to the thrift store and bought lots of wooden frames for under $13 and then came home and cleaned them up. As you can see, the kids were very excited about the project and helped. I then spray painted and hung them. The art can be changed out easily because it hangs on binder clips.
There are some kinks to work out, like the frames won't stay straight, and I'm not sure I like the color that the kids picked. (I do love to spray paint.) But, we had a great time working on it and the kids love to sit and look at their work.

Keesler Park

This park is on the water at Keesler Airforce Base in Biloxi. Though you can't see the water in these pictures, it is just beautiful. there are big old mossy oak trees everywhere! Unfortunately water plus foliage equals mosquitos, so our picnic was cut short when the sun started to go down. Maybe in the winter.......

Hungry Jake

Jacob is so funny. He ha started to pick up on word play. Our new little game is the "Hungry" game. He will come and tell me, "I'm Hungry." I say something like, "Hey Hungry, How ya' doin' Hungry?" Then he says, "I not Hungry, I Jakey." He thinks it is cute, but soon askes for some food.

Geaux Braud

Geaux Tigers!

Sign

Gina has this great little sign in her window for Martin. If that isn't enough for love, she also let him listen to the LSU game on the Radio over her phone line this week. THANKS!

Sick Girl

Cece was home sick from school Thursday and Friday. She was in her PJ's all day both days. She was back at school on Monday and seems to be fine.

Sleepy Heads

These four "sleepy" cousins are waiting for bad guys to attack.

Library

We visited the Ocean Springs Municipal Library today. I hoped to catch Storyhour, but only saw the end. I think it holds great potential for future outings. Jacob loves to pretend he is reading. "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" is his favorite book. Jill loves just pulling the books off of the shelves.

Discovery Center...

We made a Boys + Jill trip to my favorite place, the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center. Jacob is shown playing with the coolest blocks I have ever seen. Cece was at school, so shhhh.........

Sprayground

We also visited the local sprayground with my siter and her boys. We are hoping that this will lead to 4 kids sleeping hard tonight. Louisiana natives are venturing out on "vacations" all week, and making lemonade out of lemons!

Ricky's Farm

My sister and her family are "visiting" while they wait to regain power after the storm. On this day we visited Uncle Ricky's farm. The kids always want to go to see the animals, but end up playing on the swing set. On this day the most interesting thing was a sandpile, and the candy Ricky sent home with them.

Hurricane

This is a little video I made during Hurricane Gustav. It was pretty exciting for a while.

Wish You Were Here...
